Whenever she feels sad one evening, little Ariane hides at the back of the garden, in the cherry tree where she has built a treehouse. Gently rocking in the branches, she falls asleep. She dreams of the quartet: a funny family with two little ones, one slightly bigger and one really big, who, with their sixteen strings, bring the musical dreams of the greatest composers to life.

In this subtle and playful performance, the Alfama Quartet and actress Lotte Mariën (in Dutch) or Ariane Rousseau (in French) take everyone, young and old alike, on a journey to discover the fascinating and intimate world of the string quartet.

Actor Lucas Tavernier brings Coppelius and the other characters to life, interacting directly with the string quartet.

The enchanting music of Maurice Ravel, together with the famous waltz from Léo Delibes’ Coppélia, adds an extra layer of colour to the story.
